In the past 17 years of my career as a psychotherapist, I have been granted the opportunity to work in a variety of settings. I have received certified training in multiple modes of therapy including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), couples counseling, sex therapy and group therapies. My experience has included work with children and adults with a wide range of mental health issues.
As a bilingual, bicultural therapist, I enjoy working with people of diverse ethnic backgrounds, cultures, gender, and sexual orientations. I provide individual, couple, and group therapy to adults. My approach to therapy is founded on the belief that people can change or modify aspects of their life that no longer accurately represent who they are or how they want to be perceived by others. I work with each individual to modify thinking patterns to maintain positive self-value over the course of their lives despite of what kind of challenges face them.
I aim to create a safe space for positive and long-lasting change for each individual. I believe in the power of choice, and focus on strengthening the willingness to improve and succeed. I am passionate about my work and the approaches that I use; because I have applied them myself, to overcome life’s natural struggles. I believe that unfortunate events and situations are inevitable; however, it is how we choose to view situations that will determine how we adapt. Mistakes are part of life, and they are not to be taken as a sign of self-defeat. Instead, they can be viewed as experiences from which we learn and grow. I teach the art of self-compassion, and provide individuals with tools to practice acceptance, I believe in empowerment, the infinite power of self-help and solution focused therapy. Welcome.
